“We’re Going to Be Friends” by The White Stripes was [I believe] my first White Stripes song (along with “Seven Nation Army” and “Fell in Love with a Girl”). I first heard it performed by Jack Johnson in the Curious George film (2006) before discovering The White Stripes – I fell in love with this song before later falling in love with the duo. For that reason alone, this song holds a special place in my heart and means so much to me.
For this arrangement, I changed the key from G-major to B-major. I wanted this arrangement to have a spooky vibe and a calming tone.
Gear Used: Sine Chorus, Mono Echo, and Spring Reverb.
I hope you enjoy my version of “We’re Going to Be Friends” by The White Stripes.
P.S. Yes – it took me this long to cover a White Stripes song 🤦♂️😂

Thank you, PMJ, for an incredible and fun show! The positive energy and stage presence were phenomenal. I also loved the fashion!
Seeing Postmodern Jukebox on their 10th anniversary tour was very special. I’m grateful I could see them live.
Outstanding. Beyond words. 🎼🎙️✨

The Afterlife (Original Song)
Backstory: I wrote this song in 2022 in about 10 minutes. I was messing around with E-Major double stops when this arrangement came about. This song did not have a name until last year.
I went on and off with the unnamed song, adding different melodies each time. All I knew was I wanted this song to have a beautiful, soothing flow (delay adds a nice touch).
I named this song “The Afterlife” not because of a particular life event—but because that is what it brought to mind during the editing process in 2022-23.

La Vie En Rose (Ukulele Cover)
Brief History: “La Vie En Rose” (“Life In Pink”) is an iconic French song by Édith Piaf/Guglielmi. It was released in 1947 and is among Piaf’s most famous works. In the aftermath of WWII, the lyrics spoke to the hearts of those who suffered from the war. The song promotes a positive outlook on life and trying to see beauty in the every day—like when one first falls in love.
Thanks for reading!
